Job Summary: A Senior Merchant in the textile and garment industry is responsible for overseeing various aspects of the production and supply chain process, from product development and sourcing materials to production planning and quality control. They play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality garments to the market

Key Responsibilities:

Production units, Product Development

Sourcing: Identify and evaluate suppliers for fabrics, trims, and other materials. Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions

Production Planning: Develop production plans and schedules in coordination with into account capacity, lead times, and resource availability.

Quality Control: Establish and enforce quality standards and procedures throughout the production process to ensure the final product meets customer expectations.

Cost Management: Monitor production costs and work to optimize production efficiency without compromising quality.

Supply Chain Management: Coordinate the movement of materials and products within the supply chain, including logistics,



shipping, and inventory management.

Communication: Maintain explicit and regular communication with cross-functional teams, including designers, production managers, and sales teams, to ensure alignment and resolve any issues promptly.

Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure reliable and sustainable sources of materials and production capacity.
