Role Description
The Abroad Study Counselor is a full time, on-site role based in Kolkata. The counselor will guide students in selecting appropriate international study programs, universities and courses aligned with their strengths, interests and long-term goals. Daily responsibilities include securing students, conducting counseling sessions,



explaining admission requirements and application processes, assisting with documentation and timelines, and providing information on scholarships, visa procedures, and living abroad. The role involves maintaining accurate records of student interactions, coordinating with partner institutions when necessary and following up with students throughout the application journey. The counselor will also participate in workshops, seminars and outreach activities to increase awareness of abroad study opportunities and Direction Matters’ services.

Qualifications
- Strong counseling and guidance skills, including active listening, empathy and the ability to interpret assessment results to offer clear study-abroad recommendations.
- Knowledge of international education systems, admission processes, visa requirements and scholarship options for key study destinations.
- Excellent communication skills in English and local langua
