We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant with 1–3 years of experience in retail accounting, preferably in a mobile phone or electronics store. The candidate will be responsible for handling day-to-day accounting operations, purchase and sales accounting, inventory-related transactions, GST compliance support, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and maintain daily accounting transactions in Tally Prime.
- Handle purchase and sales entries, including GST accounting.
- Process customer invoices, receipts, and payment entries.
- Reconcile cash, bank, UPI, and card transactions on a daily basis.
- Maintain and verify inventory-related accounting entries.
- Prepare purchase orders and record supplier invoices.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ledger reconciliations.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly sales and financial reports.
- Assist in GST return preparation and ensure proper documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of expenses, petty cash, and journal entries.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for invoice verification and payment processing.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and statutory requirements.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assist during internal and external audits.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Tally Prime
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIF/SUMIFS, basic formulas)
- Experience using POS (Point of Sale) Software
- Positive understanding of purchase, sales, inventory, and GST accounting
- Knowledge of bank reconciliation and ledger reconciliation
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
