We are seeking a skilled Surfacing & Texturing Artist to join Kosarah, a contemporary Indian luxury heritage maison exploring the visual languages, symbols, and cultural memories that have travelled across generations.

Role Overview

We are seeking someone to collaborate with our creative team in defining the visual identity of our animated world. You will be responsible for creating stylized textures, materials, and surface details that bring characters, environments, props, and architectural assets to life. Beyond creating textures, you will help establish a distinctive visual language rooted in culture, symbolism, and craftsmanship. The ideal candidate understands how color, material, surface detail, and wear contribute to storytelling and atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

Texture & Material Development
- Create high-quality stylized textures and materials for characters, props, environments, and architectural assets.
- Develop handcrafted surface details that support the project's artistic direction and visual language.




- Collaborate with the art team to establish the project's material style, color palette, and surface treatment.
- Create shaders and materials that enhance mood, atmosphere, and storytelling. - - Translate Indian craftsmanship, traditional motifs, ornamental patterns, natural materials, and cultural references into contemporary stylized textures.
- Interpret concept art, mood boards, and reference material into visually compelling surface designs.
- Work closely with modelers, look development artists, lighting artists, and animators to achieve a Optimize textures and materials for efficient production workflows.

Required Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of stylized texturing, material definition, and surface storytelling.
- Proficiency in Substance Painter, Blender, and Photoshop (Substance Designer is a plus).
