We are looking for an experienced and agile
Lead Solar Design Engineer
to lead the engineering and design of utility-scale solar PV projects. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in
Renewable EPC
, with expertise in designing
ground-mounted megawatt-scale solar power plants
. This role requires strong technical leadership, project management capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions from concept through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design
- Lead the complete engineering design of utility-scale ground-mounted solar PV projects from concept to commissioning.
- Prepare, review, and approve detailed engineering deliverables, including:
- Plant layouts
- DC and AC system design
- Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- Cable routing and cable sizing
- String sizing and inverter sizing
- Transformer selection
- Balance of System (BOS) design
- Earthing and Lightning Protection System (ELPS)
- Ensure designs comply with national and international standards, client specifications, and applicable electrical codes.
Solar Plant Performance
- Perform energy yield assessments using
PVsyst
.
- Optimize plant performance by improving
Performance Ratio (PR)
and reducing system losses.
- Conduct shading analysis, generation estimates, module orientation studies, and plant optimization.
- Evaluate technology options to maximize project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Project Engineering
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for ground-mounted utility-scale solar projects.
- Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, procurement, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support tender engineering activities, technical proposals, and design optimization during bid stages.
- Resolve engineering challenges during project execution and provide timely technical solutions.
