Job Summary
The Senior Vertical Transportation (VT) Design & Coordination Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of VT design coordination, technical review, project scheduling, site supervision, and regulatory liaison throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures seamless integration of VT systems with structural, architectural, MEP, and fire & life safety requirements while maintaining compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design Coordination
- Review and coordinate structural drawings related to Vertical Transportation systems, including:
- Lift pit dimensions
- Overhead clearances
- Slab openings/cut-outs
- Beam separation and modifications
- Door openings and shaft requirements
- Review and coordinate architectural drawings, including:
- Door levels and landing interfaces
- Door motor fixing details
- Car finishing requirements
- Elevator machine room layouts and details
- Coordinate VT requirements with other building systems, including:
- Intercom/Interphone systems
- Energy Management System (EMS)
- Fire alarm interface and configuration
- Power supply and earthing
- CCTV integration
- Smoke control systems
- Review consultant and shop drawings for VT systems.
- Perform technical reviews of elevator systems and validate traffic analysis studies to ensure optimal system performance.
2. Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and monitor the VT installation sequence and project schedule.
- Coordinate VT activities with civil, architectural, MEP, and other service schedules.
- Ensure timely execution while minimizing interface conflicts and project delays.
