Job Summary:
The Senior Manager – Land Acquisition will lead end-to-end land acquisition activities for utility-scale solar projects. This role requires strong expertise in land identification, negotiations, legal due diligence, and stakeholder management, ensuring timely and cost-effective land availability aligned with project execution timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead identification and acquisition of land parcels for solar (ground-mounted) projects across target regions
- Develop and execute land acquisition strategies aligned with business expansion plans
- Handle large-scale negotiations with landowners, aggregators, and local stakeholders
- Ensure thorough title verification and legal due diligence in coordination with internal/external legal teams
- Manage land conversion (NA),
government approvals, and regulatory compliance
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, government bodies, and village-level stakeholders
- Resolve complex land-related issues including disputes, compensation challenges, and compliance risks
- Create and manage a land bank pipeline for upcoming projects
- Monitor and drive acquisition timelines, ensuring alignment with project schedules
- Lead and mentor a team of executives/field staff for land acquisition activities
- Coordinate with internal teams (BD, Projects, Legal) for seamless project execution
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in land acquisition (minimum 4–5 years in renewable/solar projects preferred)
- Solid understanding of land laws, documentation, and regulatory frameworks
- Proven experience in handling large-scale land deals and negotiations
