Minimum Requirements

- Age Requirement: Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at date of closing.
- Educational Requirement: Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
- Fire Certification: IFSAC or Accredited Firefighter I; NWCG Wildland FF Type II (or ability to obtain both, 6 months of hire).
- EMS Certification: Washington State or National Registry - EMT (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
- Medical Examination: Ability to pass a medical exam based on NFPA 1582 Medical Requirements for Firefighters.
- Licensure: Possess a valid insurable Washington Driver's License, or ability to obtain; possess a driving record that meets Benton Fire
