Job Purpose

To lead and manage the safe, effective, and cost-effective operation and maintenance of the Shredder and Baling Press facility, ensuring maximum equipment availability, optimum production, compliance with quality, environmental, and safety standards, and continuous improvement in plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Operations
- Plan, organize, and monitor daily operation of the Shredder and Baling Press plant to achieve production targets.
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of all plant equipment with maximum machine availability.
- Optimize throughput, productivity, and recovery while minimizing downtime and operational losses.
- Coordinate with Production Planning, Stores, Dispatch, and Quality departments for smooth plant operations.
- Monitor operational parameters and initiate corrective actions whenever required.

2. Maintenance Management
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance programs.
- Ensure timely maintenance of shredders, baling presses, conveyors, hydraulic systems, motors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, cranes,



dust collection systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- Analyse recurring equipment failures using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain maintenance history, records, and KPIs using SAP/CMMS.
- Plan annual shutdown maintenance activities.

3. Asset Reliability
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Monitor MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair).
- Drive equipment reliability initiatives to reduce maintenance costs.
- Recommend plant modifications and improvement projects.

4. Safety, Health & Environment
- Ensure strict compliance with safety standards, SOPs, Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), and statutory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
- Ensure environmental compliance relating to dust control, waste management, emissions, and pollution norms.
