Core Responsibilities
- Account Management: Oversee a portfolio of accounts to ensure timely payments and identify delinquent balances.
- Invoicing & Billing: Generate accurate invoices, process credit memos, and ensure all billing cycles are met according to company policy.
- Negotiation & Collection: Reach out to customers via phone and email to discuss overdue payments. You’ll create mutually beneficial payment plans while maintaining a professional and empathetic tone.
- Dispute Resolution: Investigate and resolve billing hurdles by collaborating with internal departments (Sales, Shipping, or Customer Success) to address the root cause of non-payment.
- Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of all collection activities and provide regular updates on Aging Reports and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) metrics.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Communication: The ability to be firm yet polite. You can navigate "tough conversations" without burning bridges.
- Attention to Detail:
You’re the person who catches a misplaced decimal point before it becomes a headache.
- Technical Proficiency: High comfort level with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Problem-Solving: A proactive mindset to identify why a payment is stuck and how to get it moving.
- Education: High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
