What this job involves:

As an Electrical Subject Matter Expert for Data Center Construction, you will provide expert technical leadership and oversight for electrical systems design, installation, and commissioning on mission-critical data center projects. This role ensures reliability, redundancy, and compliance with industry standards while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver world-class data center infrastructure that meets the highest performance and uptime requirements.

What your day-to-day will look like:
- Review and approve electrical design documents, load calculations, single-line diagrams, and specifications for medium/high-voltage distribution, UPS systems, generators, PDUs, and backup power infrastructure
- Ensure electrical systems meet data center tier requirements (Uptime Institute), TIA-942 standards, NEC/NFPA codes, and client-specific performance criteria for uptime and redundancy (N, N+1, 2N configurations)
- Conduct technical evaluations of electrical submittals, equipment specifications, and vendor proposals for switchgear, transformers,



automatic transfer switches, battery systems, and busway distributions
- Oversee installation quality, testing protocols, and commissioning activities for critical electrical infrastructure including load bank testing, integrated systems testing (IST), and parallel generator operations
- Collaborate with MEP design teams, contractors, and commissioning agents to resolve design conflicts, value engineering opportunities, and field coordination issues
- Lead technical risk assessments and failure mode analysis for electrical systems to identify vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies for continuous operations
- Provide guidance on electrical safety protocols, arc flash studies, short circuit analysis, and protective device coordination to ensure personnel and equipment protection

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:
- Minimum 10-15 years of electrical engineering
