Role Summary

The Application & Database Architect will be responsible for defining, designing, and governing end to end application and database architecture with a robust focus on GCP AlloyDB PostgreSQL.

This role demands deep expertise in distributed PostgreSQL systems, performance engineering, and cloud native architectures, ensuring highly scalable, secure, and high performance solutions aligned with business and enterprise standards.

The architect will act as a technical authority, driving application modernization, cloud migration, and database optimization for high throughput, low latency, and high availability systems deployed across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities

Application Architecture
- Define end to end application architecture across UI, services, integration, and data layers
- Design microservices based, event driven, API first architectures
- Review and govern application designs, frameworks, and coding standards




- Guide teams on non functional requirements: scalability, performance, security, reliability
- Lead application modernization and cloud migration initiatives
- Evaluate and recommend technology stacks, frameworks, and tools
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, DevOps, and security standards

Database & Data Architecture
- Design, enhance, and maintain multi region AlloyDB PostgreSQL clusters on GCP
- Architect for high availability, failover, and cross region replication
- Optimize read/write distribution, latency, and throughput across regions
- Perform deep AlloyDB/PostgreSQL performance tuning
- Diagnose complex production issues such as:
- Idle transactions
- Long running queries
- Subtransaction overhead and lock contention
- Analyze and optimize queries using EXPLAIN / ANALYZE
- Fine tune PostgreSQL/AlloyDB parameters for:
- Parallel query execution
- CPU and memory util
