About The Role
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the POPC will deliver high quality, harm reduction focused overdose follow-ups to individuals, families and businesses that have experienced an overdose. The POPC will be responsible for coordinating outreach events with first responder partners, documenting every encounter with individuals, and entering all data into the RedCap system for MDPH.



The POPC will work with the program manager to develop and present first responder trainings about harm reduction, substance use, safer use and overdose. The POPC will be responsible for following up with individuals after the initial visit and on an ongoing basis for at least 3 months. The POPC will go out weekly with various first responders and outreach staff to provide overdose prevention education and Naloxone distribution to communities on the North Shore.

Tasks And Responsibilities
- Meet with community partners on a weekly basis to go out on outreach.
- Train any current first responder partners in harm reduction, safer use and outreach to people who use drugs.
- Provide written and verbal harm reduction information on safer injection strategies, vein and abscess care, overdose prevention, Nasal Naloxone administration, sexual health and HIV/STI/Hepatitis transmission to at risk clients.
- Provide and disseminate materials such as condoms, lube, safer injection equipment, Naloxone
