The role designs, develops and maintains secure, reusable and scalable integrations between SAP systems, data products, automation solutions, AI applications and other operational systems such as MES and finance platforms.
This is a hands-on technical role with the chance to establish integration standards, API patterns, endpoint management and a sustainable technical foundation for future digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain APIs, technical endpoints, connectors and service-based integrations.
- Design, build and support integration scenarios using SAP Business Technology Platform and SAP Integration Suite.
- Build reusable and secure integration patterns for SAP and other enterprise systems.
- Enable the integration of AI agents, automation solutions, data products and digital business processes.
- Maintain clear documentation, ownership, versioning and lifecycle management for APIs and interfaces.
- Define and implement robust error-handling, retry, logging and monitoring concepts for productive integration scenarios.
- Support incident analysis, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement of APIs, interfaces and integration flows.
- Create and maintain technical runbooks, interface documentation and operational handover materials for critical integrations.
- Analyse technical dependencies, integration risks and interface requirements for new business use cases.
- Work closely with AI Agent Engineering, Automation Workflow Engineering, Data Analytics teams, SAP Basis Technology, IT Security and business stakeholders.
- Help establish common standards for integration design, endpoint management, technical documentation and controlled change management.
- Contribute to the future setup and growth of the Integration API Engineering capability.
