Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Role Summary

Lead the technical delivery and modernisation of BNS Group's enterprise infrastructure. This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for solution design, enterprise architecture, implementation and technical leadership across Windows, Linux, networking, cloud, virtualisation, storage, backup and automation.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead infrastructure projects from design through implementation and handover.

· Produce HLDs, LLDs, implementation and rollback plans.

· Act as the Level 4 technical escalation point.

· Design and optimise Windows, Linux, Azure, networking, storage, virtualisation and application hosting platforms.

· Evaluate commercial, cloud and open-source technologies through proof-of-concepts.

· Drive infrastructure modernisation, automation and engineering standards.

· Support disaster recovery, high availability and business continuity.

· Mentor engineers and review technical designs.

· Maintain technical documentation and standards.

Essential Skills & Experience





· 7–12 years' enterprise infrastructure engineering experience.

· Expert Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration.

· Robust Enterprise Linux administration (Rocky, Ubuntu, RHEL or equivalent).

· VMware and modern virtualisation (Proxmox, Nutanix or Hyper-V).

· Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud.

· Enterprise networking (TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, routing, switching, firewalls, wireless).

· Enterprise storage, SAN/NAS, backup and disaster recovery.

· PowerShell and Bash scripting; Python desirable.

· Robust documentation, communication and stakeholder management.

Preferred Certifications

· Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or Windows Server Hybrid Administrator.

· LPIC-3, LFCE or RHCE.

· VMware VCP-DCV.

· Fortinet NSE 4+, CCNA/CCNP and VMCE (desirable).

· Practical enterprise experience is valued above certifications.
