Project Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join our growing construction team. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 + years of accounting experience, preferably in civil construction or infrastructure projects, with a solid understanding of project accounting, cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining project financial records, monitoring project costs, supporting project teams with financial analysis, and ensuring accurate accounting throughout the project lifecycle. Experience with ERP accounting software and construction cost coding is essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain project-wise accounts and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
- Monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Record and allocate expenses using appropriate cost codes, sub-cost codes, and project codes.
- Prepare project cost reports,



budget variance reports, and monthly financial statements.
- Process vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, customer invoicing, and project-related accounting entries.
- Reconcile project accounts, bank accounts, and general ledger balances.
- Coordinate with project managers to track project expenditures and provide financial insights.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare MIS reports and management reports related to project performance.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of project commitments, accruals, and cost allocations.
