The Cyber Engineering team at American Express is seeking a agile engineer for the role of Backend developer within the Information Security organization. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop advanced capabilities involving emerging technologies including Gen AI.



As a key member of this team, you will have the opportunity to design and develop cutting-edge product capabilities utilizing emerging technologies, including Generative AI, to stay ahead of the evolving cyber threat landscape and protect American Express's digital assets.
- Associates or BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on software development experience building scalable, cloud-native applications.
- Strong experience developing backend applications and distributed systems using Python, Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript), and Go (Golang). Experience with Java is a plus.
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and high-performance backend systems using modern software engineering best practices.
