Freelance Faculty for Big Data – BVoc Big Data and Cloud Computing Program

Position:
Freelance Faculty (Part time / Hourly Basis)

Mira Road, Thane

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic freelance faculty member to teach Big Data under the BVoc Big Data and Cloud Computing Program.

The role involves delivering engaging lectures, guiding practical sessions, and mentoring students to build strong foundations.

Subjects to be Taught

· Introduction to Big Data

The subject covers:

Ø Big Data Concepts, Characteristics, and Industry Applications

Ø Hadoop Ecosystem (HDFS, MapReduce, YARN, Hive)

Ø Apache Spark and PySpark

Ø Spark SQL and Spark Streaming

Ø NoSQL Databases (MongoDB, HBase)

Ø Big Data File Formats and Data Management

Ø Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and Cloud-based Big Data Services

Ø Big Data Practicals using Hadoop, Spark, Hive, MongoDB, and PySpark

Key Responsibilities

· Deliver lectures, tutorials, and lab sessions as per the prescribed syllabus.

· Develop teaching material,



assignments, assessments, question papers and case studies aligned with course objectives.

· Correct answer sheets whenever required.

· Design and evaluate practical assignments, case studies, mini-projects, journals, viva examinations, and internal assessments.

· Provide academic support and mentoring to students.

· Ensure completion of syllabus within the semester timeline.

· Collaborate with the program team to improve pedagogy and curriculum delivery.

· Train students in Hadoop, Apache Spark (PySpark), Hive, MongoDB, and other Big Data technologies.

· Guide students in developing Big Data applications, distributed data processing workflows, and industry-oriented mini-projects using real-world datasets.

Qualifications

· M.Tech. in Computer Science / Data Engineering / Information Technology or M.Sc. in Data Science / Big Data Analytics / Computer Science (or an equivalent postgraduate qualification)
