About the Role
We are looking for a Mid-Level Back-End Developer to join a dedicated engineering team building a Greenfield Portfolio Management System from the ground up. This is an chance to build the core infrastructure from scratch rather than maintain an existing application. The initial focus will be on developing the Python backend and integrating Bloomberg APIs for real-time market data ingestion. You will collaborate closely with engineering stakeholders, participate in code reviews, and contribute to the successful delivery of the platform.
Responsibilities
- Build scalable back-end services and REST APIs using Python.
- Implement and troubleshoot Bloomberg API connectivity for market data ingestion.
- Design, develop, and maintain the data layer using PostgreSQL and SQL.
- Work with Snowflake as the cloud data warehouse.
- Develop and support applications hosted on Microsoft Azure.
- Collaborate with distributed engineering teams during U.S. East Coast working hours.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and deployment activities.
- Contribute to backend architecture, design discussions, and implementation.
What Success Looks Like
- Deliver a working MVP of the portfolio management platform by year-end.
- Build reliable Bloomberg API integrations with stable market data flow.
- Develop scalable, maintainable, and production-ready backend services.
- Work effectively within a dedicated engineering team through real-time collaboration.
- Produce high-quality code that meets review and deployment standards.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in Python backend development.
- Hands-on experience with Bloomberg API integration.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Experience building REST APIs and back
