Role Overview / Purpose of the Role

The Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge, reliable, and cost-effective industrial machinery and automation solutions. The role involves creating 3D models, manufacturing drawings, machine layouts, and engineering documentation while ensuring compliance with quality standards and manufacturability. The Design Engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to support new product development, continuous improvement, standardization, and timely project execution, ensuring customer requirements and business objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities
- Create 3D models, assemblies, machine layouts, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Prepare customer floor layouts based on machine configurations.
- Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, design calculations, engineering documents, revision records, and engineering databases.
- Support concept development, machine design calculations, and component selection.
- Design sheet metal, machined, fabricated, plastic,



and casting components for machine assemblies.
- Design mechanisms such as gear drives, cam mechanisms, belt drives, chain drives, and other motion transmission systems.
- Integrate automation elements into machine designs, including sensors, servo systems.
- Participate in prototype assembly, machine trials, testing, validation, and performance improvement activities.
- Prepare and maintain DFMEA, DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis, design review documents, and root cause investigation reports.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, QA/QC, Sourcing, Service, and Automation teams to resolve design and manufacturing issues.
- Contribute to standardization, modularization, value engineering, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Maintain ISO 9001:2015 engineering records, ECN/ECR documentation, and change control processes.
