We are looking for a highly skilled Next.js Developer with 45 years of web development experience to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-performance, scalable web applications using the Next.js and React ecosystems.
A key focus of this role will be building decoupled/headless architectures, specifically integrating frontend applications with Drupal CMS backends. You will bridge the gap between backend content structures and frontend presentation, optimizing applications for maximum speed, scalability, dynamic content delivery, and SEO.
Role & responsibilities :
A. Design System Implementation & UI Development :
- Component Standardization: Translate components from the Figma UI Kit into reusable, highly customizable React/Next.js components, ensuring consistency across the entire digital ecosystem.
- Design Token Integration: Implement and maintain design tokens (colors, typography, spacing) within the frontend codebase to ensure seamless synchronization with design updates.
- Data Mapping:
Architect and map complex Drupal content types, taxonomies, fields, and paragraphs into these standardized frontend components.
B. Drupal Integration & Architecture :
- On-Demand Revalidation: Implement and maintain webhook-driven Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR) so that when content updates in Drupal, the Next.js site updates instantly.
- Content Preview Mode: Configure and maintain Next.js Preview Mode to allow content editors and marketing teams to preview draft content safely from Drupal before it goes live.
C. Performance Optimization & Quality Assurance :
- Core Web Vitals: Audit and continuously improve Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), Interaction to Next Paint (INP), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS).
- SEO Management: Ensure proper usage of Next.js Metadata APIs, energetic open-graph images, and structured semantic HTML.
- Collaboration & Testing: Work side-by-side with UX/UI
