What You'll Own
-The layer that moves real money: brokerage, bank funding, and identity partner integrations.
-Order lifecycles, funding rails, settlement, and reconciliation—where correctness is non-negotiable.
-The journey from sandbox to production, including cutovers, vendor quirks, and robust failure handling.
-Systems designed to be fully auditable, where every state change is explainable and every dollar is traceable.
What We're Looking For
-7+ years preferred (5+ years minimum) of hands-on backend engineering experience with Node.js and TypeScript as your primary stack.
This is a builder role, not a manager role.
-Experience shipping and operating at least one deep third-party financial integration (payments, brokerage, banking, or KYC).
-Robust understanding of transactional system design, including idempotency keys, retries with backoff, exactly-once processing, and outbox patterns.
-Expertise in webhook implementation, including signature verification, replay protection, and handling duplicate or out-of-order deliveries.
-Deep PostgreSQL knowledge, including transactions, locking, and isolation levels.
-Experience building reconciliation jobs that detect and safely repair data drift between systems.
-Strong security mindset with careful handling of PII, credentials, and financial data.
-AI fluency with engineering rigor. You should be a daily user of AI coding tools like Claude Code and Cursor while maintaining discipline in validating AI-generated code.
