We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Service Engineer to handle installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of diesel generator sets (Gensets). The ideal candidate should have hands-on knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems, with a robust focus on customer service and field support.
Educational Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Relevant certifications in diesel engines or power systems (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Installation, commissioning, and testing of Gensets at customer sites
- Routine maintenance, servicing, and preventive maintenance of diesel generators
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in Gensets
- Repair and replacement of defective components (engines, alternators, control panels, etc.)
- Maintain service records, job reports, and documentation accurately
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and company protocols during service operations
- Coordinate with internal teams for spare parts and technical assistance
- Conduct periodic inspections and performance checks of installed Gensets
- Attend breakdown calls and ensure timely resolution
Key Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, alternators, and electrical systems
- Hands-on experience with Genset maintenance and troubleshooting
- Basic understanding of control panels and wiring diagrams
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Willingness to travel for field service assignments
- Basic computer knowledge for reporting and documentation
- Good communication and customer-handling skills
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience working with Gensets (any brand)
- Familiarity with AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) services
- Exposure to load testing and synchronization of generators
- Understanding of emission norms and fuel efficiency optimization
