About StrainX Bio StrainX Bio is a synthetic biology and precision fermentation company developing next-generation, nature-identical food proteins through advanced strain engineering, bioprocess development, and scalable bio-manufacturing platforms. Our RD centre integrates computational biology, metabolic engineering, fermentation, downstream processing, and analytics to accelerate strain-to-product translation. Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Biologist to lead Computational Biology workflows at the StrainX RD Centre. This role will focus on metabolic modeling, flux balance analysis (FBA), multi-omics integration, and rational strain design to enhance protein expression, yield, and metabolic efficiency. The ideal candidate will build predictive frameworks that bridge in silico modeling with wet-lab execution, enabling accelerated strain optimization and reduced development cycles. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine genome-scale metabolic models (GEMs) for microbial production hosts.




- Perform flux balance analysis (FBA), flux variability analysis (FVA), and 13C-metabolic flux analysis (13C-MFA).
- Integrate transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics datasets into predictive metabolic models.
- Design rational strain engineering strategies to improve product yield, titer, and productivity.
- Collaborate closely with strain engineering and fermentation teams to validate computational predictions.
- Build automated pipelines for data analysis, model refinement, and design-build-test-learn (DBTL) cycles.
- Drive techno-economic modeling to guide pathway optimization and cost-of-goods (COGS) reduction.
- Establish computational infrastructure, data standards, and reproducible workflows.
- Mentor junior computational scientists and contribute to building a solid computational biology team.
