Data Engineer

Location: Chennai (Work From Office)

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Data Engineering to design, build and optimize enterprise-scale data pipelines, analytical data models and decision-support infrastructure. The role requires strong hands-on technical expertise along with the ability to lead a small team of data engineers and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and Airflow/Prefect.
- Build and optimize data lake, data warehouse, and data mart architectures.
- Develop dimensional data models including star and snowflake schemas, OLAP cubes, and analytical layers.
- Ensure high standards of data quality, validation, lineage, and documentation.
- Enable and support ML-ready datasets in collaboration with analytics and data science teams.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve pipeline performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Lead, guide,



and mentor a small team of 23 data engineers.
- Collaborate with business, product, analytics, and engineering stakeholders to gather and translate data requirements.
- Enforce data governance, access control, and security best practices.
- Support BI teams with curated datasets, semantic layers, and performance tuning.

Technical & Qualified Requirements:
- 6–10 years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and Airflow/Prefect.
- Solid understanding of data lake, data warehouse, and data mart concepts.
- Expertise in dimensional modeling and OLAP systems.
- Experience with Spark and/or Kafka is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of ML data pipelines and feature engineering workflows.
- Proven experience in mentoring junior engineers and conducting code reviews.
