Job Responsibilities
1. Import Procurement
- Source and procure imported parts as per business requirements.
- Float RFQs, obtain quotations, negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and monitor supplier confirmations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with overseas suppliers.
2. Supply Chain Planning
- Monitor material requirements based on production plans and forecasts.
- Ensure optimum inventory levels while avoiding shortages and excess stock.
- Track open orders and expedite critical shipments.
- Coordinate with planning and production teams for material availability.
3. Logistics & Import Operations
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners.
- Monitor shipment status from supplier dispatch to warehouse receipt.
- Manage air and sea shipments for cost and lead-time optimization.
- Ensure timely customs clearance and resolution of shipment-related issues.
4. Documentation & Compliance
- Review and maintain import documents such as:
- Commercial Invoice
- Packing List
- Bill of Lading / Airway Bill
- Certificate of Origin
- Insurance Documents
- Ensure compliance with DGFT, Customs, GST, and other import regulations.
- Verify HSN codes, duty structures, and applicable advantages under FTAs.
6. Supplier Management
- Monitor supplier performance on Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD).
- Conduct periodic supplier reviews.
- Support supplier development and localization initiatives.
7. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with:
- Production Planning
- Stores & Warehouse
- Finance & Accounts
- Quality Assurance
- Engineering Teams
- Ensure smooth flow of materials and information across departments.
8. Reporting & MIS
- Prepare reports on:
