Job Summary

The Quality Manager ensures all fragrance compounds, raw materials, and finished perfume products meet strict regulatory, safety, and sensory standards. This role oversees laboratory testing, olfactory evaluations, and manufacturing compliance to guarantee consistent product excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control & Testing

Sensory Evaluation
: Lead olfactory panels to verify fragrance profile consistency.

·
Analytical Testing
: Oversee GC-MS, refractive index, density, and flashpoint testing.

·
Raw Materials
: Approve or reject incoming essential oils and synthetic chemicals.

·
Stability Testing
: Monitor product shelf-life, discoloration, and compatibility with packaging.

Compliance & Operations

·
Regulatory Alignment
: Ensure compliance with IFRA, EU cosmetics regulations, and FDA standards.

·
Batch Approvals
: Review and release production batches for bottling and packaging.

·
Audit Management
: Maintain ISO 22716 (Cosmetic GMP) standards and lead factory audits.

SOP Development
: Write and update standard operating procedures for the laboratory.

Team & Vendor Management

Vendor Qualification
: Audit third-party fragrance houses and raw material suppliers.

·
Root Cause Analysis
: Investigate customer complaints and production batch failures.

·
Team Leadership
: Train and manage lab technicians, chemists, and sensory evaluators.

Role Requirements

Education & Experience

·
Degree
: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Cosmetic Science.

·
Experience
: 5+ years in quality control within cosmetics, flavors, or fragrances.

·
Management
: 2+ years of experience leading a laboratory or quality team.

Olfactory Acuity
: Exceptional, trained sense of smell for detecting fragrance deviations.

Technical Expertise
: Mastery of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) data analysis.
