General description of role:
The Data Governance Analyst drives data governance, data catalog/marketplace adoption, and data quality management within Aon. This role improves data discoverability, trust, and quality across the Strategic Data Asset (SDA) lifecycle by working with global SDA ownership teams. The analyst partners with data governance Enablement and Capability Leads, SDA owners to embed data governance capabilities and data management best practices. They design and maintain reporting to track SDA owners’ adoption of these practices and inform senior leadership. The analyst also refines frameworks and toolkits and evaluates technologies to enhance data governance.
What the day will look like:
Collaborate with Central Data Office and Aon stakeholders for SDA onboarding and data governance operations.
Converts the business use case into the data governance requirements.
Align with the metadata and data quality standards and industry best practices.
Maintain and curate metadata, business glossaries, and catalog assets
Monitor and analyze data quality issues, risks, and trends
Perform data validation, profiling, and root cause analysis
Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve data quality and governance issues
Support adoption of data catalog and marketplace capabilities
Report on the SDA progress, issues and process gaps.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Governance: Support implementation of governance frameworks, policies, and standards across data domains
Metadata Management: Maintain business taxonomies, data definitions, catalog, lineage, ownership, and classifications to improve data discovery, metadata curation, and adoption
