General Manager (Sales)

Position Title
: General Manager – Sales

Department:
Sales – Passenger & Two-Wheeler Dealerships (Tata Motors, Ather, Royal Enfield, Ashok Leyland, etc.)

Role Purpose

To lead the overall sales function of the dealership, drive volume and profitability across all OEM brands, and ensure an excellent customer experience in line with OEM and group standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual retail and wholesale sales targets for all product lines.
- Develop and implement local sales strategies, campaigns, and activities to drive showroom walk‑ins, test rides, and conversions.
- Lead, motivate, and manage the Sales Managers, Team Leaders, Digital Leads Manager, and front‑line sales team to deliver high performance.
- Monitor enquiry management, test ride process, follow‑ups, and booking closure through CRM and DMS systems.
- Ensure adherence to OEM processes for showroom operations, documentation, pricing, discounting, and reporting.




- Review sales funnel, model mix, ageing stock, and support effective inventory planning with OEM and internal teams.
- Coordinate with Marketing, Digital, and Customer Experience teams for local promotions, events, and brand‑building activities.
- Track competitor activities and market trends; provide regular MIS and business insights to management.
- Maintain strong relationships with OEM field teams and ensure high scores in audits and process evaluations.
- Handle key customers, corporate/bulk deals, and escalation cases to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate; MBA in Sales/Marketing preferred.
- 7–10+ years of experience in automobile dealership sales, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Solid knowledge of dealer operations, retail finance, insurance, and accessories/up‑sell.
