PLC Automation & Controls Engineer (Battery Equipment)Roles & Responsibilities (R&R;)
- Develop, test, deploy, and maintain PLC-based automation software for battery and cell manufacturing equipment.
- Design and develop HMI/SCADA applications for machine operation, monitoring, diagnostics, and reporting.
- Design and implement control systems involving servo drives, VFDs, motion control systems, sensors, actuators, and machine safety circuits.
- Collaborate with electrical design teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software controls.
- Support machine qualification activities including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), MQ1, and MQ2.
- Perform machine commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and optimization at customer sites.
- Provide post-installation customer support, root cause analysis, issue resolution, and continuous performance improvement.
- Integrate machine automation systems with MES, ERP, databases, and industrial communication networks.
- Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT,



Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and OPC-UA.
- Develop standardized PLC software architectures, reusable libraries, and coding best practices.
- Maintain software documentation, version control records, test reports, and commissioning documents.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, process, vision, and production engineering.
- Support machine safety implementation in compliance with applicable industrial safety standards.
- Participate in current product development, innovation initiatives, and automation technology improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine reliability, productivity, quality, and maintainability.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed within defined timelines, quality standards, and customer requirements.
