Proposal Writer Job Description

Role Summary

The Proposal Writer is responsible for supporting the end-to-end execution of proposal development activities for assigned customer accounts. This includes performing opportunity searches, executing customer proposal roadmaps, developing compliant proposal responses, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery of proposal submissions. The role requires solid ownership of assigned accounts, operational excellence, and a commitment to customer success.

Key Areas of Responsibility
- Perform opportunity searches across U.S. Federal, State, Local Government, and commercial procurement portals, and analyze solicitation documents to identify business opportunities and proposal requirements.
- Develop compliant, high-quality proposal responses and supporting artifacts, including compliance and schedule matrices, proposal outlines, technical and management narratives, staffing plans, resumes, past performance, and other customer-required deliverables.
- Participate in proposal planning,



kickoff meetings, storyboarding sessions, and color team reviews (White, Pink, Red, Gold, etc.), incorporate review feedback, and support proposal production and submission activities.
- Manage assigned customer accounts by monitoring proposal pipelines, opportunity status, deliverables, schedules, risks, dependencies, action items, and overall account health.
- Coordinate with customers and cross-functional stakeholders, including Business Development, Capture, Proposal Managers, SMEs, recruiters, pricing, graphics, and operations teams to ensure timely proposal execution.
- Identify, communicate, and support the resolution of proposal risks, compliance gaps, customer issues, and schedule impacts while escalating concerns as appropriate.
