It is truly a Hybrid development/testing position.
We are looking for a Java Developer (someone who understands OO programming) that has tested in selenium, worked in an Agile environment and highly technical (meaning they are an engineer; someone who is a problem solver and passionate about what they do).
This will be 60% Development, 40% Testing.
REQUIRED SKILL:
Java Development / Object Oriented Programming Skills
Groovy, to write scripts
Selenium
Retros/deployments
Agile / CI / CD Automation pipelines (must know Spock and Geb)
Appium/mobile automation is a plus
Mobile is a plus; this team will be using Appium which is an extension of selenium. If they do not have mobile that is okay but they will have the chance to learn it (aka someone who is passionate about technology).
Hyatt is seeking an experienced Software Developer to be embedded within its QA organization. This resource will be tasked with developing comprehensive test-automation solutions to validate frontend web user-interfaces and backend APIs.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in Java,
with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming. They will also have a knack for writing clean, readable, and maintainable code.
This position is within the Global Operations Center at Hyatt s corporate offices located in downtown Chicago.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Use Java and/or Groovy to develop, enhance, and maintain code that is designed to verify the quality of Hyatt s software across all layers (Unit, Service, and UI).
Help identify gaps in test coverage and develop quality test code to fill such gaps.
Actively participate in code reviews to ensure that object-oriented design best-practices are followed at all times.
Proactively work with Product, QA, and Development right from inception through functional validation and launch.
Assist with issue triaging and root cause analysis.
Take pride and ownership over the quality of the product being shipped.
