Founded in 2015 by visionary social entrepreneur Shri. Shantilal Muttha, Shantilal Muttha Foundation

(SMF) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to ensuring that every child receives an education that

nurtures them into compassionate, responsible citizens. SMF works to transform school education

through systemic interventions that align with national and state educational priorities. By engaging

proactively and collaboratively with education systems and key stakeholders, SMF seeks to foster a

values-based, equitable, and high-quality learning ecosystem.

SMF adopts a systems-strengthening approach to enable sustainable change at scale. To this end, the

Foundation partners with government authorities, national and international experts, advisors, and likeminded organisations to build strategic collaborations. These partnerships support the design and

implementation of impactful, evidence-informed solutions that contribute to long-term transformation

of education systems.

SMF implements the Mulyavardhan Programme,



a large-scale value education initiative focused on

developing social, emotional, ethical, and constitutional values among students through teacher capacity

building, classroom-based interventions, school engagement, and system strengthening. The

programme is implemented in partnership with government education departments across

Maharashtra.

Position Purpose

The Programme Officer will be a key member of the Programme Management Unit (PMU) and will

support the planning, implementation, monitoring, review, and quality assurance of the Mulyavardhan

Programme across Maharashtra. The role requires close coordination with government stakeholders,

district and taluka-level implementation teams, master trainers, and internal programme teams to

ensure effective execution, achievement of programme outcomes, and continuous improvement in

implementation quality.
