Role Description
The Foundry Engineer (Melting Supervisor) is a full-time, on-site role based at the Saroj Castings facility in Kolhapur. This role is responsible for supervising melting operations, including furnace charging, alloy additions, and monitoring metal chemistry and temperature to meet specified casting requirements. The position involves coordinating with pattern, moulding, and core-making teams to ensure consistent quality, optimal process flow, and timely production of cylinder head castings. The Foundry Engineer oversees daily shift activities, implements safety procedures, manages melting crews,



and ensures proper use and maintenance of furnaces and related equipment.

Qualifications
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, process parameters, and quality standards, and to adjust melting and process controls accordingly.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, secure handling of molten metal, and implementation of workplace safety practices in a foundry environment.
- Diploma or degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Foundry Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; relevant foundry experience is strongly preferred.
- Skills in root cause analysis, problem-solving for casting defects, and participation in continuous improvement, 5S, or lean initiatives.
- Basic computer literacy for production reporting, data logging, and communication; ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
