Job Purpose

The IPQC Assistant Manager will be responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and improving the quality assurance frameworks across all in-process assembly stages. This includes SMT (Surface Mount Technology), Wave Soldering, Selective Soldering, and manual assembly lines. The goal is to drive zero-defect manufacturing, strictly enforce IPC-A-610 standards, minimize rework/scrap, and ensure robust process compliance through active auditing and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

1. Process Quality Oversight (SMT Soldering)

Monitor and audit the end-to-end PCBA manufacturing processes: Solder Paste Printing, SPI, Pick Place, Reflow, AOI, Wave Soldering, Selective Soldering, and X-Ray inspection.

Enforce process parameters and profiles (e.g., thermal profiling for Reflow, Wave, and Selective Soldering) to prevent defects like bridging, voiding, tombstones, or cold solder joints.

Establish and track vital quality metrics including Yield Rates, First Pass Yield (FPY), and Defects Per Million Opportunities (DPMO).

2. Defect Analysis Corrective Actions (CAPA)





Lead failure analysis and troubleshooting for real-time line defects.

Initiate, manage, and verify CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) using 8D methodologies, 5-Why analysis, and Fishbone diagrams when line dropouts or quality excursions occur.

Collaborate with the Process Engineering team to optimize machine parameters based on IPQC data trends.

3. Standards, Audits Compliance

Act as the subject matter expert for IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) and J-STD-001 requirements on the shop floor.

Conduct routine Layered Process Audits (LPA) and workstation compliance audits (checking ESD grounding, moisture-sensitive device (MSD) handling/J-STD-033 compliance, and feeder calibration).

Ensure rigorous calibration and maintenance tracking of inline inspection equipment (SPI, AOI, AXI).
