We're looking for a Network Security Engineer with strong project engineering experience to support the implementation and delivery of firewall and load balancing solutions. This role is focused on hands-on deployment work, with some troubleshooting and support as part of the day-to-day.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement firewall solutions, primarily FortiGate, across enterprise environments
- Deploy and configure load balancers (e.g. F5 LTM/GTM), setting up VIPs, health monitors, and traffic policies
- Work on project-based engineering tasks, from planning through to implementation and go-live
- Create and maintain design documentation (HLDs/LLDs) for proposed network changes
- Configure and optimise security policies, VPNs, and rule bases to support business requirements
- Support troubleshooting of firewall and load balancing issues, working through to resolution
- Collaborate with wider network, security, and project teams to ensure smooth delivery
What You'll Need
- Solid hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls (policies, VPNs, rule base management)
- Experience with load balancing technologies (F5 or equivalent)
- Proven background in project engineering and implementation work, not just BAU support
- Working knowledge of troubleshooting network security issues
- Good communication skills and ability to produce transparent technical documentation
- Comfortable working across multiple projects and stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Fortinet certifications (NSE 4/5/7)
- Experience with additional firewall vendors (Palo Alto, Check Point, Juniper)
- Exposure to SD-WAN
