JOB SUMMARY

The Safety Officer will be responsible for overseeing the safety of all personnel and operations within the organization. The individual will implement and enforce safety measures and policies to ensure a hazard-free working environment. The role demands proactive risk assessment and promoting safety awareness to prevent accidents, injuries, and unsafe practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments at various work sites.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, statutory laws, and company policies. • Implement safety programs and safety training for employees at all levels.
- Report and document any accidents, injuries, or unsafe incidents.
- Maintain and update safety records, documentation, and safety reports.
- Investigate accidents/incidents and propose corrective actions to avoid recurrence.
- Promote and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Liaise with management to develop safety plans and improvement strategies.




- Advise on safety measures during the design of recent work processes or equipment.
- Act as the point of contact for external safety audits and inspections.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree or diploma in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field. • 4-5 years of experience in a safety officer role, preferably in a high-risk industry.
- Sound knowledge of safety standards, procedures, and legislation.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
- First aid and emergency response training.
- Strong report-writing and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Experience with safety audits and regulatory inspections.

• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety or NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health).
