Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant for our client, a reputed company in the Retail Industry based in Ayanambakkam, Chennai. The role involves handling day-to-day retail accounting, billing, inventory tracking, and managing daily financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities
- Daily Ledger Management: Maintain day-to-day accounts, cash book, bank book, and general ledgers.
- Billing & Invoicing: Oversee retail billing, manage point-of-sale (POS) reconciliation, and track daily cash/digital sales collections.
- Vendor & Expense Management: Handle vendor bills, track operational expenses, and process timely vendor payments.
- Reconciliation: Perform daily bank reconciliation statements (BRS) and reconcile cash-in-hand with system logs.
- Receivables & Payables: Monitor outstanding accounts receivable and payable.




- Taxation & Compliance: Assist in GST-related work, including data preparation, filing inputs, and coordination with the Chartered Accountant (CA).
- Reporting: Support management with daily/monthly sales reports, financial records, and basic MIS.

Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance (B.Com / BBA / M.Com).
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience as an Accountant (Experience in the Retail industry is a strong advantage).
- Software Skills: Strong working knowledge of Tally / Retail POS software and proficiency in MS Excel.
- Tax Knowledge: Basic knowledge of GST, e-invoicing, and statutory compliances.
- Languages: Good communication skills in English and Tamil.
