Job Responsibilities

Responsible for overseeing animal breeding programs, animal care operations, and vaccine testing activities while ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.

1. Animal House Management
- Manage the daily operations of the animal facility.
- Ensure proper housing, feeding, sanitation, and environmental conditions for laboratory animals.
- Monitor animal health and welfare in coordination with veterinarians.
- Maintain facility biosecurity and infection control measures.

2. Breeding Program Management
- Plan and supervise breeding colonies of laboratory animals.
- Monitor breeding performance, colony expansion, and genetic integrity.
- Maintain accurate breeding, pedigree, and inventory records.
- Ensure adequate animal availability for vaccine studies and production requirements.

3. Vaccine Testing Oversight
- Plan and coordinate animal studies for vaccine safety, potency, efficacy, and toxicity testing.

- Review study protocols and ensure adherence to SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
- Supervise vaccine administration, sample collection, and observation procedures.
- Monitor study progress and ensure accurate data collection.

4. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GLP, GMP, CPCSEA & IAEC requirements.
- Prepare documentation for inspections, audits, and regulatory submissions.
- Maintain study records, animal health records, and facility documentation.

5. Team Leadership
- Lead and supervise animal technicians, research associates, and support staff.
- Conduct training on animal handling, welfare, biosafety, and study procedures.
- Manage staff scheduling and performance evaluations.
- Promote a culture of animal welfare and scientific integrity.

6. Quality and Biosafety Management
- Ensure implementation of quality systems and SOPs.
- Investigate deviations, non-conformances, and animal health issues.
