Key Roles & Responsibilities

Safety Management
- Implement and monitor the company's Health, Safety, and Setting (HSE) management system.
- Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, Maharashtra Factory Rules, and applicable occupational safety regulations.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the plant. Hyundai WIA globally emphasizes "Safety First," supported by ISO 45001-based management systems, structured governance, and continuous safety improvement.

Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- Factories Act, 1948
- Maharashtra Factory Rules
- Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSHWC) Code (as applicable)
- ISO 45001
- ISO 14001
- Company EHS standards
- Coordinate with government authorities during inspections.
- Maintain statutory records and registers.

Risk Assessment
- Conduct HIRA (Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment).
- Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA).




- Carry out workplace risk assessments.
- Recommend engineering and administrative controls.

Safety Inspection & Audits
- Conduct:
- Daily shop-floor inspections
- Safety audits
- Gemba walks
- Machine safety inspections
- Contractor safety audits
- Monitor closure of audit observations.

Incident Investigation
- Investigate:
- Near misses
- Unsafe acts
- Unsafe conditions
- Accidents
- Property damage incidents
- Perform Root Cause Analysis using:
- 5 Why
- Fishbone Diagram
- 8D Methodology
- Implement CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Actions).

Fire & Emergency Management
- Maintain fire protection systems.
- Organize emergency evacuation drills.
- Inspect fire extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, and emergency exits.
- Coordinate with local emergency services when required.

Contractor Safety
- Verify contractor safety compliance.
- Conduct contractor induction programs.
