Roles and responsibilities of a Lab Technician

Essential Qualification : B.Sc./M.Sc. in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Molecular Biology or related discipline.

Minimum Experience: 12 years laboratory experience in academic or research laboratories (preferred).

- Support day-to-day functioning of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching laboratories.
- Prepare reagents, buffers, culture media, and experimental materials.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness.
- Assist in installation, routine maintenance,



and basic calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Maintain inventory of chemicals, consumables, glassware, and laboratory supplies.
- Monitor stock levels and assist in procurement processes. Research Support
- Provide technical assistance to faculty members, research scholars, and students in research activities.
- Assist in biological sample collection, processing, preservation, and storage.
- Maintain laboratory notebooks, equipment logbooks, and experimental documentation.
- Support coordination with Central Instrumentation Facility.
- Ensure proper labeling, tracking, and archival of research samples
