Job Summary
The General Duty Assistant (GDA) is responsible for providing basic patient care and assisting nurses and doctors in delivering quality healthcare services. The GDA ensures patient comfort, maintains cleanliness, and supports smooth day-to-day hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
* Help in shifting patients safely between wards, OT, ICU, radiology, and other departments.
* Monitor and report changes in patients’ condition to the nursing staff.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of patient rooms, beds, and equipment.
* Assist nurses during patient care procedures as required.
* Ensure timely transportation of samples, reports,
medicines, and medical equipment.
* Support infection control practices by following hospital hygiene protocols.
* Dispose of biomedical waste as per hospital guidelines.
* Provide compassionate care while maintaining patient dignity and privacy.
* Perform other duties assigned by the Nursing In-charge or Hospital Management.
Required Skills
* Basic knowledge of patient care and hospital hygiene.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Compassionate, patient-focused, and responsible attitude.
* Ability to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts.
* Teamwork and willingness to learn.
