The Senior Credit Controller is responsible for leading the organization's credit control and accounts receivable function by ensuring timely collections, minimizing credit risk, optimizing cash flow, and maintaining healthy customer relationships. The role involves managing customer credit exposure, supervising collection activities, resolving disputes, and supporting strategic financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Credit Management
- Assess customer creditworthiness and recommend appropriate credit limits.
- Review and monitor customer credit limits on a periodic basis.
- Ensure compliance with the organization's credit policy and approval matrix.
- Identify high-risk customers and recommend corrective actions.
Accounts Receivable & Collections
- Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable process.
- Ensure timely collection of outstanding payments from customers.
- Monitor ageing reports and prioritize overdue accounts.
- Develop and implement collection strategies to improve cash flow.
- Reduce overdue receivables and bad debt exposure.
Customer Account Management
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service teams to resolve billing disputes.
- Maintain solid relationships with key customers while ensuring timely collections.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly MIS reports on:
- Outstanding Receivables
- Ageing Analysis
- Collection Performance
- Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
- Bad Debt Provision
- Credit Exposure
- Present collection performance and credit risk reports to management.
- Analyze payment trends and recommend process improvements.
Compliance & Process Improvement
- Ensure accurate documentation of credit approvals and collection activities.
