We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented
Legal Counsel – Data Privacy & Compliance
to continue strengthening our legal and compliance function. The role will be responsible for driving data privacy initiatives under GDPR, DPDPA, review open-source software agreements and assess legal & compliance risks, managing regulatory compliance frameworks, and advising stakeholders on legal and compliance risks. The ideal candidate will work closely with business and CIO office to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal Governance standards.

Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.

·
IAPP Certification (European) as added advantage.

·
5–8 years of experience in data privacy, regulatory compliance, legal advisory, or related areas.

·
Solid understanding of privacy laws, regulatory frameworks, and compliance management.

·
Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

·
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

·




Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.

·
Experience in handling audits, risk assessments, and compliance reporting.

Data Privacy Compliance:

· GDPR Compliance

· DPDPA Implementation

· Privacy Impact Assessments, Transfer Impact Assessment and Risk Assessments

· Draft and review Data Processing Agreements and conduct risk assessments with third-party vendors

Legal Review and Compliance risks identification:

· Regulatory Compliance Management

· Legal Research and Advisory

· Data Breach Management and Incident Response

· Compliance Reporting and Audit Support

· OSS licenses and assess associated legal risks

· Advise teams on permissible use and compliance requirements

· Identify legal and compliance risks and recommend suitable actions

· Collaborate with IT and security teams for OSS governance

· Coordinate with stakeholders to track regulatory updates and ensure timely action
