Job Title: Foundry Melter Department: Melting / Foundry Job Summary: The Foundry Melter is responsible for operating and controlling the melting furnace to produce molten metal of the required chemical composition, temperature, and quality while ensuring safe and efficient operations. Key Responsibilities Prepare the furnace and inspect all equipment before starting. Charge the furnace according to the approved melting schedule. Calculate and add scrap, alloys, carburizers, and ferroalloys as per the melt plan. Monitor melting temperature and maintain proper superheat. Take samples for spectrometer analysis and adjust chemistry as required. Ensure molten metal meets the specified composition before tapping. Perform slag removal and maintain melt cleanliness. Tap and pour molten metal safely into ladles. Maintain accurate records of heats, material consumption, temperatures, and chemistry. Follow all safety procedures and use the required PPE. Report furnace or equipment problems immediately. Keep the melting area clean and organized.



Assist with furnace lining inspection and routine maintenance. Required Skills Knowledge of induction furnace operation. Understanding of metal chemistry and alloy additions. Ability to read spectrometer reports. Knowledge of safe molten metal handling practices. Basic troubleshooting of furnace and melting issues. Valuable communication and teamwork. Qualifications ITI/Diploma or equivalent experience in foundry operations. Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a foundry melter (preferred). Experience with cast iron, SG iron, or alloy iron melting is an advantage. Performance Indicators Correct chemical composition achieved. Minimal melting losses and alloy consumption. Safe operation with no accidents. Timely completion of melts. Low rejection due to melting-related defects.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
