WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- The recent API platform — design and build the .NET backend serving the Vue.js app: data access, business logic, auth, conventions, docs. You are engineer #1 on this layer.
- Performance — when a user clicks with a customer at the counter, the response must feel instantaneous. You'll own latency budgets, caching strategy, and memory optimization — including cache coherence with the legacy Java layer writing to the same database. That problem is hard, unsolved, and yours.
- Existing microservices — an integration hub (normalizes APIs from multiple supplier/distributor partners into one format) and a communication hub (email/SMS via SendGrid and Twilio) become yours to run and extend.
- Integrations — suppliers, payments, partners. You'll design the integration patterns others follow.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 8+ years of backend engineering with real depth — you've designed services, not just contributed to them
- Strong .NET/C# — or elite proficiency in another compiled backend language plus proof you learn new stacks fast
- Strong SQL and comfort working against a large, live production database you didn't design
- Microservices and third-party API integration at production quality
- Demonstrated performance engineering: memory optimization, caching, low-latency request paths
- Disciplined Git/DevOps habits; clear written and video communication in English
- AI-fluent and AI-skeptical: you move faster with AI, audit everything it produces, and write the hard 10%
