We are looking for a highly experienced
Solution Architect
to lead the modernization of a large legacy Windows desktop application into a cloud-native Azure platform.
This is
not a DevOps or Infrastructure Architect role
.
The ideal candidate should be capable of understanding complex legacy enterprise applications, reverse engineering existing Windows codebases, defining the modernization strategy, designing the target architecture, and serving as the primary technical liaison between the client and the engineering team.
The role requires both strong technical depth and excellent stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and reverse engineer large legacy
Windows Forms (.NET Framework)
applications
- Understand existing
C#, .NET and C++
codebases including DLLs, Windows APIs and third-party components
- Document the existing ("As-Is") architecture and identify modernization opportunities
- Design the target ("To-Be") cloud-native architecture on Microsoft Azure
- Define migration strategy,
modernization roadmap and technical milestones
- Break down legacy desktop functionality into scalable web and backend services
- Provide technical direction to engineering teams throughout the migration
- Review solution designs and ensure architectural consistency
- Work closely with client stakeholders to gather requirements, explain technical approaches and provide architectural recommendations
- Act as the primary technical liaison between the client and internal development teams
- Identify technical risks, dependencies and mitigation strategies
- Drive architecture governance, design reviews and best engineering practices
Must Have Skills
- 8+ years of enterprise software development and solution architecture experience
- Expert knowledge of

- Strong experience with
.NET Framework
and
.NET Core / .NET 8
