General Manager Plant & Machinery

Experience: 20–25 years

Job Purpose:

To manage, monitor, and maintain all construction equipment, tools, and machinery across sites or centralized yards to ensure uninterrupted operations, optimum utilization, and minimal downtime, while ensuring safety and cost-efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, schedule, and manage the operations of all plant and machinery at site(s) and/or central yard.
- Prepare preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules and ensure timely execution.
- Monitor fuel consumption, machine utilization reports, and overall equipment efficiency.
- Plan and allocate resources (manpower and equipment) across multiple sites as per project requirements.
- Ensure procurement and timely availability of spares, consumables, and tools.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for all machinery, including insurance, road permits, servicing records, etc.




- Implement and follow safety procedures and compliance as per statutory norms.
- Liaison with OEMs/service providers for repair/AMC/technical support.
- Manage a team of mechanics, operators, storekeepers, and helpers.
- Track inventory of tools, equipment, and spares; ensure accurate reporting.
- Plan for asset deployment, transfer, and disposal as per company guidelines.

Key Skills & Competencies:
- Solid technical knowledge of construction equipment like Excavators, Loaders, Transit Mixers, Tower Cranes, DG Sets, etc.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
- Knowledge of SAP/ERP systems for P&M; tracking is an advantage.
- Awareness of safety and statutory compliances.

Qualification:
- Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Automobile Engineering
