About the Role

As a Product Development Intern, you will drive technology and solution research for real engineering problems - evaluating existing products, sensors, and AI systems, and how they integrate to solve the problem at hand.

Core Responsibilities
- Research and evaluate existing products, sensors, and AI-based technologies - understanding their working principles and assessing fit against specific engineering problems.
- Investigate root causes of real-world failure modes through research papers, standards, and first-principles analysis.
- Apply structured design-selection and reliability frameworks - FMEA, Pugh matrix, and QFD - to compare concepts and drive build vs. buy vs. adapt decisions.
- Translate research into clear technical recommendations and presentations for the team.
- Take approved concepts 0-to-1: CAD modelling, design iteration, and prototyping.
- Draft and refine technical requirement documents for products.
- Engage with suppliers/vendors - technical discussions, part sourcing, and spec finalization.

What We're Looking For




- Pursuing/recently completed B.Tech in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electronics, or related field.
- Strong research instincts - comfortable evaluating sensors, components, and technical literature, and forming a transparent point of view.
- Exposure to design-selection or reliability methods (FMEA, Pugh, QFD) is a plus.
- Working knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks/Fusion/CATIA or similar); CFD exposure (Ansys/Star-CCM+) is a plus.
- Genuine interest in mechanical products, AI, autonomous systems, and robotics.

*Preference* *will* *be* *given* *to* *candidates* *with* *hands-on* *experience* *in* *student* *engineering* *build* *teams* *such as SUPRA SAE, BAJA SAE, Robocon, e-Yantra, or similar competitive projects.*
