The Cost Engineer will support GPS Renewables EPC projects by managing project budgets, tracking costs, forecasting overruns, and ensuring financial discipline across all project stages. The role works closely with Planning, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and Site teams to provide accurate cost visibility and early warnings.
Job responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain project budgets and cost baselines.
- Track committed, actual, and forecasted costs across all project disciplines.
- Conduct periodic cost reviews and prepare cost-to-complete (CTC) and estimate-at-completion (EAC) updates.
- Highlight variances, risks, and cost impacts due to design changes, procurement issues, or site delays.
- Support preparation of change orders and cost impact assessments.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Billing teams to validate vendor costs and contractor bills.
- Prepare concise cost dashboards and reports for management reviews.
- Maintain cost governance standards and support planning processes.
Candidate Profile & Skills:
- Bachelors degree (Engineering or Finance).
- 5–7 years of Proven experience as a Cost Engineer or in a similar cost management role.
- Strong understanding of EPC / construction / infra projects
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel/Power BI/MS Project.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Skilled certifications, such as CCP, CCT, CEP preferred
Preferred Experience Requirements:
- Accuracy of cost forecasts (CTC/EAC).
- Minimal variance between budget and actual spend.
- Timeliness and clarity of cost reporting.
- Effective early warning on risks and overruns.
